Queensland is proudly known as the sunshine state of Australia, and any time of year makes a good time to visit Brisbane (often called Brizzy by locals). Brisbane sightseeing is marked by parks, coastline, gardens, and more. Whether you want to play in the water or partake in some epic shopping, this Australian city welcomes you.
Start your Brisbane tour with a stop at Mount Coot-tha. The name of this mountain peak is derived from the Maori word for honey, which was once found in abundance here. While you’re at Mount Coot-tha, explore the stars of the Southern Hemisphere at the Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium. Next, visit a laughing kookaburra at Brisbane Botanical Gardens.
Don’t forget about the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, where you can visit koalas, kangaroos, and other local animals. Once you’re ready to commune with humans again, head to Queen Street Mall for the heart of Brisbane’s shopping. The South Bank is rich with free activities, markets, and a lagoon where you can cool off.
Spare some time to take the public ferry to Newfoundland Park, where you can visit the restored Brisbane Powerhouse, filled with art installations. To end your day, climb the Story Bridge, an ideal spot to watch the sun set over the city. Don’t worry, Brisbane tourism includes many fine and casual dining options.

I’m live in Sydney but go up to Brisbane frequently to see my partner. I have to admit, while there are definitely advantages Brisbane has over Sydney (less traffic, more laid back, affordable housing etc.) I do find it to be a little boring in comparrison. Sydney is just riddled with spectacular harbour / beach views, incredible architecture, bursting with character and culture, amazing bars, restaurants and countless things to do; as is Melbourne (minus the harbour views).
But after doing all the touristy things in Brisbane, we kind of saw everything worth seeing within a few days.
For someone visiting Australia who is only has time to see one or two cities, I would definitely recommend Sydney and / or Melbourne. Brisbane just wouldn’t make the cut for me, sorry.

Hey everyone, Have you heard of a certain famous tattooist in Brisbane. He’s won multiple tattooing awards, He’s been the face of many tattooing products. I’m talking about none other than Brett Clifton, he’s also known as Topshelf Bretto and here’s his Instagram username @topshelf_bretto. People fly in from all around Australia to get tattooed by this guy he’s practically famous in the tattoo industry. You need to check him out, by my opinion he’s the best tattooist in Brisbane. Reply to my comment if you’ve heard of him or even been tattooed by him

Brisbane is the best city ever!
Been to Brisbane once when I was 14. I was awed by the beaches in the middle in the city. This is the most beautiful city ever I have seen. The perfect blend between nature and modern city, and the kind of thing that you never find in a concrete jungle like Hong Kong. The friendly vibe, laid back lifestyle…. To me, Brisbane is the perfect city to live in. Now I am going to study in University of Queensland next month. Just watching videos and wish time could pass faster.
lovely and exciting city

Melbourne and Brisbane are the top two most livable cities in Australia by a long way. I lived in the best areas
of Sydney for thirty years and is a long way behind these two
Is it okay here to go for a swim even on winter?
I am OZ Chinese live in Melb 20years , never wish to live in Brisbane, too hot and wet there in summer.
Lived in the best suburbs in Sydney for 30 years. Brisbane and Melbourne leave Sydney for dead and the real estate is half the price. . Magic city to walk around. No other major city has so much natural beauty around it within easy reach.

Brisbane
Brissy Northside represent
Not sure how it has a country feel. Far more refined and sophisticated than Seattle is! Standard of living is far superior. I miss my hometown and will move back to Brissy.
