Visiting Beijing with kids

Beijing is a place of contradictions. It’s old and brand new, fast and slow, welcoming and shy, loud and quiet, tiny and huge, clean and filthy… all at the same time.

We really enjoyed exploring the city’s sights, parks, and hutongs (old neighbourhoods). We spent some time like tourists and stayed in a hostel and then 10 days living like locals in an apartment while Kyla was away in the USA.

Calais celebrated her 7th birthday while we were here so it will always have a special place in our hearts.

We feel like there’s still a lot more to do, so we’ll likely come back some day.

Check out the next video! We visit the Great Wall of China.
