Truth 1. The emperors lived in Forbidden City donot have 3000 concubines. For Qing’s emperors, the number may differs from a few to dozens of.
Truth 2. The Forbidden City have 8400-8700 rooms depends on how you count it.
some figures like 3, 3000, in China just mean a lot, while number 9 and 9999 mean the largest number in 1-digits or 4-digits which represent too many and one cannot image. These are not used to express the real number, they are just literature words and legendary popular story.
