Germany: Trip to the Grocery & Fun Kid’s Foods

We’ve just arrived in Germany and it is time to try some new foods. Cora is a little shy to try all the different sandwich meats and cheeses, luckily we find some cute kid-friendly versions for her to try. Fun finds were Bärchen-Wurst (Big Bear sausage) a bear design bologna-tasting sandwich meat. There are Bärchen-Schlawiener which are like hotdogs but better and have cute paw and bear designs on them. We also found gouda cheese shaped like fox and pig. To finish the meal we needed some fruits and added banana juice and physalis berries to the cart. Both were delightful, we had never tried physalis before they were both sweet and sour (like sour patch kids), they are also called cape gooseberries. Wonder if this was the fruit Snow White made pies from?
