In this program, we explore Sorrento’s back streets, taste traditional Italian food, drive along the dramatic Amalfi Coast to catch some breathtaking scenery, learn the history behind the tourist shops of Amalfi, stroll in the shadow of Greek temples at Paestum, and sail to the Isle of Capri to enter the fabled Blue Grotto.

Rick…change your wardrobe.
I’m definately a fan of Rick and the amazing videos he produces.
and definitely Paestum!!
Rick Steves next time u go to Sorrento try “La Tonnarella”, it’s an unknown hotel just south of Sorrento built inside a big rock by the sea. Everything inside is decorated with hand painted tiles and the view is breathtaking. Trust me that place is a hidden gem, I can’t wait to get back.
Keep the Good Work going
Greeks and normand monuments in the southern Italy are universal masterpieces.
i love this channel
Rick Steves covers locations in detail and is always smiling. A very soft spoken person.
Hi there, I love your video. We a short break of 3 weeks and will travel in Southern Italy. Thanks for the many new suggestions! Love the cable car idea. Take a look at my short videos biking around my lovely city.
Thank you! A very Nice Place!
Be careful when talking about Italian engineers building roads. Many of these roads were built by Mussolini in order to boost national pride. Italians deserve praise, fascists deserve the trash can of history.
Great video, though.
Sorrento is one of my favourite places in Italy. It felt really safe to wander about in the evening. It was very easy to get around and the sights were breathtaking around the clifftops and by the harbour. Food was fabulous and everyone seemed to be really happy. My favourite part was going on the little train that goes around town and down to the harbour. It was brightly lit with coloured lights and music played through speakers. It was just delightful. Would go again in the blink of an eye.
be there this saturday!
I’d love to some day visit these places. Rick Steves show on PBS introduced me to so many dreams. Maybe some day. I hope.
