Kylie is Australian but has lived all over the world as a journalist and filmmaker. She makes food and travel TV shows such as When Patrick Met Kylie, The Dolce Vita Diary, When in Rome, When in Florence and Amore Al Dente, which air on TLN Canada, Discovery TLC Asia, TLC Australia, TLC Latin America, Fox Life India, TV2 Norway and other networks in 68 countries.

Kylie quit her job and ran away to Italy several years ago. She moved to Rome and started the magazine and site for expats and tourists Romeing, for which she wrote a monthly column ‘A Life Romantic’ about the reality of living the dolce vita. http://www.romeing.it/category/features/a-life-romantic/

She also lived in Positano on the Amalfi Coast, where she filmed a series exploring whether Italians are in fact happier, whether they know how to live better than the rest of the world.

Italy has seduced so many people over the world with its romantic, cinematic and culturally rich cities like Florence, Venice, Milan, Bologna, Naples, Palermo, idyllic beach destinations like Capri, Amalfi, Sorrento, Portofino, Sardinia, Sicily, Ponza or must-see regions like Tuscany, Le Marche, Puglia, Campania, Liguria, Veneto, Abruzzo, Lombardia, Piemonte, Sardegna, Lazio, Emilia Romagna. Whether you want a cultural vacation visiting the Vatican, one of the many duomo, the Uffizi art gallery, the Colosseum, the leaning tower of Pisa, Pompeii, the Pantheon, the Roman Forum; or the most beautiful scenery like the canals of Venice, the vineyards of Tuscany, the Sicilian islands or the Italian alps, Italy keeps travellers coming back year after year to explore all there is to offer.

Hollywood has long adored Italy from such classic films as Roman Holiday, Only You, Under the Tuscan Sun, Eat Pray Love, Stealing Beauty, Il Postino, A Room With A View, Enchanted April and many arrive at Fiumicino airport filled with cinematic fantasies. If you really want to eat authentic Italian pasta, gelato, coffee, pizza or learn to speak Italian or just live like a local, booking somewhere to stay on Airbnb means you can really see what life is like in Italy.

Whether you’re planning a weekend getaway, a gap year, a backpacking holiday, a road trip, a sabbatical, a summer vacation or just the adventure of a lifetime the best way to experience a foreign country is always through the local people.

Stay tuned for more adventures with Kylie!

Timothy Holliman says:

My great grandfather immigrated to the US from Italy and ever since I was a child, I’ve dreamed of moving to Italy. It’s very difficult to do legally though unless you are filthy rich or have a ridiculous degree. It’s sad that you’re forced to live somewhere, when your heart is telling you that you belong somewhere else.

brian mccabe says:

I don’t think about quitting my job cause people depend on me and that is why people have planes to fly on and food to eat. You would do yourself and everyone a bigger favour if you settle down in your native place and do a job that helps. You can always go travelling for a bit.

Arione Stewart says:

Thank you Kylie. You are such an inspiration. <3 <3 <3

Glimpsed says:
