Prague Food Tour

After the awesome Czech Tourism event I met Jan who’s the operations manager of Eating Prague Tours. When he made his initial pitch about going on a food tour I was a bit hesitant because I never really went on one before. He assured me that this was a food tour was like no other, so I asked my new friend Anna that’s kinda pronounced anYa (she’s super awesome & RUSSIAN) to join me for a full day of tasty food and desserts. Long story short, it was AMAZING.

Information —
Eating Prague Tours has gathered together their favorite attractions, restaurants, bars and places to stay in Prague, as well as their very own shortlist of not-to-be-missed food and drinks in the Czech Republic!

The 4-hour walking food tour of Prague takes in plenty of authentic food tastings from amazing, locally-loved food stops. We tasted some incredible Czech desserts, got a real understanding of why Prague is famous for its open-faced sandwiches, and soak up some serious history in a café that dates back to the beginning of the 20th century and has played host to dozens of famous historical figures. Today I took a break from being a tourist and experienced real Czech food!

Watch until the end to hear more about my personal story 😃

Hotel Accommodations: Mosaic House

Perníčkův sen
Obchod s perníkem (Gingerbread store)

Run by two sisters-in-law, this bakery is single-handedly revising Prague’s gingerbread tradition. Their authentic gingerbread is made with nothing more than honey, butter and nuts – of course with the familiar warm, peppery spices that make it so special. And if that wasn’t enough, they also serve up some of the best poppy-seed kolache in town… it has to be tasted to be believed!

Naše Maso
Obchod s perníkem (Gingerbread store)

Come admire traditional butcher techniques in this loved-by-locals butcher shop covered in glass, specially designed for customer observation. While you are at it, taste some of the finest meats and sausages you’ll ever encounter.

Founded by a famous Czech food journalist and the “mother of Prague farmers markets”, Sisters offers the most gorgeous and tasty chlebíčky (open-faced sandwiches) on the planet. Find out why this bistro is considered one of the hottest new entrants to the Prague food scene.

An award-winning restaurant in a secret location – really. No tour is complete without an element of surprise and delight.

Café Louvre
Bearing the name of the world famous gallery, Café Louvre has been in business since 1902. A veritable piece of history in its own right, the café has welcomed a host of famous thinkers over the last century, including Karel Capek, Franz Kafka and Albert Einstein.

Awesome video, I live in this wonderful city. Best quality camera footage I have ever seen on YouTube… just googled your Sony and it costs over $3000! Holy moly. What’s the closest I could get for less than $1000? Maybe a GoPro?
